To and from Perisher
Blue:
Skitube has become by far the most popular way of getting to and from the snow.
Because the Bullocks Flat Terminal is well below the normal snow line, and
only 20km from Jindabyne, it’s an easy drive.
From here frequent train
services run to Perisher and on to Blue Cow. Coach services run morning
and evening between Jindabyne and Bullocks Flat. Your Skitube Pass
includes the National Park Use Fee.
How do I get there:
Perisher Blue
is an easy 5.5 to 6 hour drive from Sydney or 7 hours from Melbourne with
half the distance on freeway standard roads.
From Jindabyne access
by road to Perisher, Smiggins and Guthega is via the Kosciuszko Road, with
snow chains required to be carried by all vehicles past the National Park
entrance. It's an easy half hour drive from Jindabyne in good
weather.
Between June 1 and October 10, motorists are legally
required to carry properly fitting chains in any vehicle in a "snow-ice"
risk section within the National Park.
There is FREE day parking
for 1500 vehicles at Perisher, 526 (plus 64 coach spaces) at Smiggins and
60 day and 50 overnight spaces at Guthega. Snow conditions can affect
these numbers.
Alternatively, Skitube is 20kms or around 15 minutes drive from
Jindabyne via the Alpine Way, with no chains normally required.
FREE day parking for 2208 vehicles and overnight parking for 822
vehicles is available here. There is also parking for 200
coaches.
On-snow overnight parking at Perisher, Smiggins and
Guthega is limited to a few properties - we recommend using Skitube
for access.
Entry to the National Park is $15 per car per day.
Annual passes are $80. Skitube includes park entry.

late arrivals. Some lodges provide their own service.
